The KNUST Obuasi SRC held a State of the SRC Address(SOSA) during its General Assembly sitting last Sunday, 8th May, 2022.
Abban Stephen, the KNUST Obuasi SRC President addressed the general assembly and the student populace on various keynote issues. He gave a briefing on the progress of work of his administration, zooming into that of his office.
Meanwhile, the SRC President also addressed various allegations against his administration, most especially concerns about alienation between KNUST Obuasi SRC and KNUST Kumasi SRC.
Addressing this, Abban Stephen stated emphatically that KNUST Obuasi SRC is not autonomous from the KNUST Kumasi SRC. The two campuses remain under the auspices of the same KNUST SRC Constitution, with KNUST Kumasi SRC President as its executive head.
Thus, contrary to claims of a divorce between the two, the two are still under the same roof and KNUST Obuasi is entitled to help from them.
Moreover, the President further went on to disclose that the Kumasi SRC is ever-willing to help the Obuasi SRC. In view of this, he encouraged students to stay put and be on the lookout for good news soon.
