The SRC Electoral Commission held the ASPIRING STUDENT LEADERS CONFERENCE, which on the 7th of May, 2022 to give students leadership knowledge and equip them with the skills needed in being good student leaders and also initiate them into the future leaders of the world after university. The theme for the conference was ‘UNLEASHING THE UNTAPPED STRATEGIES FOR WINNING CAMPUS ELECTIONS’.
A couple of speakers were invited to speak on the theme. And other Universities were invited to grace the occasion. The conference started at 1 pm. The coordinating Dean of Students for KNUST Obuasi Campus addressed the student body. He spoke on characteristics or attributes a leader should acquire.
There was an engagement in an interactive discussion with three panellists, who shared their ideas on specific questions asked by the moderators of the program. Students were also allowed to ask questions thereafter. There was a few minutes break after which the second session began with a new set of panellists. The same procedure was used to engage the new panellists.
The conference closed with an interactive third session, which talks about the influences of Women in leadership. The SRC, the guest of honour, the SRC EC, and some sponsors addressed the student body. The conference had some packages which included Certificates, Organization Membership cards, and educational books.
